Valley Coatings, LLC Case Studies: Major Stucco Repair and Rhino Shield paint in Wynnewood, PA
Challenge
The customer in Wynnewood, PA came to us with a fabulous 1960's stucco home that was in need of extensive repairs to the stucco before our house painters could apply the Rhino Shield permanent house paint. We brought in our stucco repair experts to evaluate the situation. A plan was made to repair certain sections and replace others, including the top portion of the chimney. Rhino Shield and its primer can take care of the small cracks and surface irregularities, but the damage to the stucco here went far beyond that.
Solution
We were up to the task and brought in our stucco experts to remove large sections of the damaged stucco and rebuild the walls with new mesh and stucco. Once we did that, we replaced several of the window casings and removed and patch some unwanted decorative trim pieces embedded in the stucco.
The next step was to mask the house to keep the job neat and clean as we applied our exclusive primer/sealer. These products seal the stucco against water infiltration and provide a bonding layer to ensure the topcoat bonds to the stucco for a lifetime of beauty and performance.
After caulking and sealing with elastomeric sealant, we applied the ceramic topcoat to all stucco surfaces. After that dried, we removed the masking on the windows and trim and re-masked to protect the newly painted stucco as we painted the windows, soffit, fascia, and trim.
The last step was to paint and reinstall the original wood shutter, clean up and haul away debris and say goodbye to another customer of Rhino Shield house painting that will never have to paint their house again.
